Why are we doing the draw?
We hope that this fantastic draw will be a huge success. We are doing this adventurous ‘Win a House and Car’ fundraiser to help purchase and develop much-needed playing pitches and facilities for the expanding Athenry Camogie Club so that its numerous teams of all ages will be able to train and play in a home base of their own.
Our vision is to develop as soon as possible, a (‘fit for purpose’ or ‘first class’) Sporting facility for our camogie players that will cater for generations to come.
Additionally, our wish is to have this facility generally available for recreational purposes to people of all ages and abilities by including in our plans, for example, a 1.6k perimeter walkway with disability access.
Athenry’s location in such a central and accessible position in County Galway will ensure maximum utilisation of this much-needed sports and leisure development for a wide catchment area.
With the goodwill and support of our people and friends, we will make this a fabulous success.
Our Objectives
This Committee has been in the planning stage since during the second half of 2020 and it is our goal that the long-term (5 years) objective would be to have a finished facility that will include:
- At least 2 Natural Surface full GAA sized playing pitches
- One Astroturf surface full GAA sized playing pitch with floodlight facilities.
- A Clubhouse/Community centre with Recreation Hall, Dressing Rooms, Meeting Rooms, Catering area.
- Appropriate Car Parking Facilities.
- A floodlit perimeter walkway with particular emphasis to cater for Special Needs individuals
